Simple Bullet Journal Spread for Beginners

February 6, 2021

I am very new to bullet journaling as I only started one on a whim a few weeks ago. However, I’ve found the process of creating the bullet journal spread so therapeutic and enjoyable. I am by no means an expert and I cannot draw very well at all. Art has never been a strong point of mine but I am still having fun creating my spreads. With that in mind, I thought it would be fun to show you my incredibly simple bullet journal spread for February. I don’t love some of the pages but equally, I don’t hate them either. I’m still learning about what I like to have in my spread so hopefully, my style will evolve too!

Like I’ve said before, I’m not the artiest of people so my title page is incredibly simple. I wish I could do all the fancy lettering but at the moment I’m keeping it simple. For February, I just wrote the month and put it in a box. As February is the month of love I thought I’d go to town on the hearts and dotted them around everywhere. I took a lot of inspiration from Pinterest so if you’re ever stuck for ideas then Pinterest will definitely help you out.

Key Dates

easy bullet journal spread for beginners - simple and easy february bullet journal spread

I then added key dates for the month. I know that I won’t be using my bullet journal to keep track of the days so I just wanted a simple overview of the month. There isn’t anything too exciting on my key dates as being in lockdown meant I didn’t have very much planned. The only exciting thing in February is that it’s myself and my boyfriend’s 2 year anniversary and it’s Valentine’s Day! If you’re looking for date ideas then I wrote a post last week on lockdown date night ideas.

Habit Tracker

easy bullet journal spread for beginners - simple and easy february bullet journal spread

Being honest, I HATE this habit tracker that I made for February. It just looks so ugly and I am not a fan. I prefer the one that I had in January so I know for next time not to go for anything like this. Last month, I made a habit tracker that looked more clean and simple so I think I will definitely be going back to that style instead.

Dream Log

easy bullet journal spread for beginners - simple and easy february bullet journal spread

Next, I went for something fun and decided to track my dreams. I don’t if anyone else has been sleeping weirdly recently but I have been having some bizarre dreams. If you’re struggling with sleeping then I also have a whole post that should help! I thought it would be fun to include a dream log so I can look back on all the strange dreams I’ve had. The only dream on there at the moment is about writing an essay on Kylie Minogue songs – that really would be a dream!

TV Series

easy bullet journal spread for beginners - simple and easy february bullet journal spread

Finally, I decided to include somewhere to track the TV series I watch throughout the month. As I’m sure many of us have been glued to Netflix in lockdown (check out my recommendations here) I wanted somewhere to keep track of shows I’d seen. So far, there’s Bridgerton, The Pembrokeshire Murders and The Serpent which I enjoyed a lot. If you have any other recommendations then let me know – I’m always looking for new things to watch!

And that’s it for my simple bullet journal spread. I’m completely new to bullet journaling and haven’t been doing it for very long at all but I’m hoping I’ll stick to it. I’ve really enjoyed doing something slightly more creative with my time. Plus it stops me from scrolling on my phone. I find it quite relaxing to do and I’m hoping that I’ll keep it up. I’m a big fan of the simple bullet journal spreads as I don’t have the time for anything too elaborate but they look just as effective.

Do you have a bullet journal? Do you prefer simple bullet journal spreads or the more elaborate ones?

I started a bullet journal last week! It is so cool to see what people can do with all of these bullets, haha. Even better that anything you do… Is yours! Your habit tracker looks really sweet. I should look into tracking the TV shows I watched! I’ve been binging so much that I forget what I’ve seen haha.

I love your bullet journal set-up! I used to have one too, but noticed that I didn’t have enough time to keep track. I also had a memories page for every month in mine, which was lovely to look back on at the end of the year. I now use a bullet journal for work, beg use it gives me the freedom of making my to do lists as big as I have to 😂

So it’s neat to see you do it even though you don’t think of yourself as artsy because I used to think that’s who were the people who created them. Thanks for sharing your pages!

It’s a great way to start to recognize trends or similarities and what they may be trying to tell you. I love how simple and cute this is! I’ve tried and failed at bullet journals cause i forget about them and im frankly kinda rubbish at being artsy so i love that if i could ever keep up with a bullet journal i could still make it look cute with being super easy!
