As we are all well aware, travelling has been off the cards for a while now. Hopefully, the world will start to open up soon and travel will become easier again. For now, I’ve been reminiscing about past trips and thinking about places I’d love to visit one day. Europe has a wealth of incredible places to see and I can’t wait to explore again. I thought I’d share some of the places I’ve either been to and loved and also some destinations that are top of my bucket list of places to visit.

Berlin
Berlin I think has hands down been my favourite place to visit. The trip was incredible and I loved every minute there. I have always been intrigued by all things German so finally visiting the country was everything I’d hoped for. The city of Berlin has so much to offer. It is full to the brim of history, beauty, and character. There is so much to explore and I loved being there. I would go back tomorrow if I could! If you’ve never visited I cannot recommend it enough.
If you want to find out more about my trip to Berlin then check out my more in-depth guide!
Ljubljana
Ljubljana is a recent addition to my bucket list of places to visit but it looks gorgeous. Had the pandemic not happened I most likely would’ve visited it in 2020. Sadly that never happened so it is my number one place to travel to now. The scenery looks gorgeous and I’d love to explore the city. It seems like a slightly more underrated place to visit in Europe but I cannot wait to visit one day. The castle and Dragon Bridge look so lovely and I would love to take a day trip to Lake Bled too.
Edinburgh
Edinburgh is another destination that had it not been for the pandemic would be crossed off my bucket list. I did have this trip booked twice but both times it got cancelled and it is now off the cards. Everyone I know that has visited Edinburgh absolutely loved it there. It seems to be quite an imposing and atmospheric city in terms of architecture but is also beautiful. There’s so much to explore there and I am desperate to visit the optical illusion centre!
Amsterdam
Amsterdam has always been one of my favourite cities and I’ve visited it three times now. It’s such a beautiful city to just wander around the streets and explore. There are so many canals that it’s also very easy to get lost or get confused about where you are! Like Berlin, it has quite a rich history and a trip to Anne Frank’s House is an absolute must-do. I’ve loved each visit and I also have a guide on things to do in Amsterdam if you’d like to discover some things to do!
Paris
Paris is somewhere I visited quite a few years ago now. It’s such a gorgeous place and the buildings are beautiful. Obviously it’s known as the city of love so I think it would make a great place to visit with a future partner. Paris has so much to see and do and it’s such a dreamy city. This is high on my list of places I’d like to travel to again and seeing it on Emily in Paris made me want to go back even more!
These are just a selection of some of the places that I would love to visit one day or visit again. I have really missed being able to travel and have found myself looking back on old trips quite a lot recently. Writing travel guides are some of my favourite posts and I haven’t been able to do that in such a long time. Fingers crossed travelling will become easier and some of these destinations will soon be ticked off of the bucket list!
Where would be on your bucket list of places to visit? Have you visited any of these destinations?
Now that is some Bucket List you have there; all beautiful and historical cities. Enjoy everything when you get to visit them in the future.
When Edinburgh comes around, after you get to Camera Obscura, travel a few hundred meters to Edinburgh Castle and this, I guarantee, will give you amazing views of our capital city, as well as an insight into history of Scotland.
Thank you – I’ll keep that in mind for if I ever manage to visit Edinburgh!
I’ve only visited Edinburgh; a fabulous city. Would definitely like to visit the other ones. 😀
I adore Europe and cannot wait until I can explore properly again! I love Amsterdam and Paris. My favourite ever European country is Italy and I can’t wait to explore more of it xx
Yes, Italy is so beautiful!
Paris is lovely, and I would love to visit Berlin one day 🙂
I hope you get to visit Berlin one day!
Oh yes, I highly recommend you visit Ljubljana. It’s a wonderful place 🙂 My bucket list has all those cities where my friends are…. it was awful not being able to see them in more than a year and a half. First stop will be Venice, Ferrara and Rome in Italy, then Warsaw and Hamburg.
Oooh Venice is also somewhere I’d love to visit!
Ooo lovely places on your list. I must admit, I haven’t been to any of these, or even considered some. Safe to say I now have many more added to my list. We are keeping our fingers crossed we can visit Edinburgh early next year 🤞
Thanks for sharing your list!

Some really great cities here! I have been to Edinburgh and I loved it so much that I cannot wait to go back and stay for longer. I would honestly love to permanently move there if my circumstances would ever allow for that.

I love travelling in Europe and have made the journey across “the pond” several times. I love your list which has given me even more reasons to travel to Europe again once things settle down with the pandemic. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for reading!
Berlin is on ours too, along with Copenhagen and Croatia! Xx
Oooh yes Copenhagen looks fab too!
Well, can’t argue with many of these. Paris is the one listed here I have been to the most, and I never get tired of the place. It’s also very walkable, which is a plus as you get to see a lot more of it that going on the metro for every journey.
I would love to visit Paris and Edinburgh, they look like amazing places to travel to! I hope you manage to get to these places in the future lovely! x
